An installation of sculptural works will be presented in the lower rooms of Bell House, a grade 11 listed Georgian house in Dulwich village
.
For this body of work, Ingram has visited the gardens throughout the seasons, gathering discarded clippings pruned from a range of plants and trees that surround the house, these raw materials have provided a starting point from which to explore sculptural forms.

Ingram fuses the natural and the man made in evocative and elegant compositions. Through attachment and placement objects are stacked, twisted and balanced together. Ingram takes his interest in the Japanese artform of flower arrangement ‘Ikebana’ and extends the play between nature and object, composition and form.

A second part of the project, Ingram has invited a group of sixth form art students from across the Southwark Schools Learning Partnership (SSLP) to work alongside him in the gallery. Students will deconstruct Ingram’s works and experiment with creating their own sculptural outcomes using the same materials. A preview event will take place on Wednesday 13th June.

The project ‘Duets’ is an exploration of opposites, pairings and partnerships. Contrasts are explored through the use of the natural alongside the manmade, permanent paired with the empherermal.

The element of creative play is further addressed through Ingram’s collaboration with young people in reconfiguring his own work, breaking down the traditional notion of artist, teacher and student.
Bell House is a place for wider learning and aims to create a tranquil and creative environment where people can learn new skills, collaborate in shared interests and create connections.

Located in Dulwich Village neighbouring Dulwich Park, Dulwich Picture Gallery and Christ's Chapel, Bell House has easy access from central London with three nearby stations - West Dulwich, North Dulwich and Herne Hill.
